hi,

I am new on this forum.

I have two eap225

my question is

Is it possible to make a mesh network with two eap225?

The first eap225 is wired connected to internet, i used omada software controller to make it a root ap and enable the mesh function.

Then i want a second eap225 connect to this network wirelessly, so i power the second eap225 with the included poe adapter inside the box.

I use the poe adapter only for power the eap not for lan connection because i dont have a lan cable on the second floor where i want to put this second eap225.

But now i cannot find the second eap on the list on omada controller web interface? Maybe i want too much...

SO is this kind of mesh network possible?

Hey

Yes the EAP225 can be enabled for MESH, it should just be a matter of enabling MESH in settings and having the second device online.

Check the firmware for both devices are up to date and reset the MESH AP, there should be no config of any type on it, hopefully this should work for you

Yes it works!!!

Thank you for your fast answer.

I updated the software controller it was annold version now i have the latest version and works very good.

But still a little problem this software must be on 24 hours for in case there is a problem like no power or something , without the controller software network dont restart its own.

So i buy today the hardware controller oc 200, i will power this with a adapter because i dont have a poe switch, i have a cheap switch of tp link. If this also works then its perfect.

You are very welcome!

Indeed the controller is required to be online to handle the MESH and roaming, the OC200 should sort this for you. In general the software controller is really only for very large installations (100s of APs).
