LAN to LAN VPN Help.

Model: ER7206 (TL-ER7206)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I purchased two TP-Link ER7206 routers. One for my home and one for my cottage. I'm brand new to VPN, but I was able to get an IPSec tunnel up and running without problem between the two locations (LAN to LAN VPN). I can access devices in either location behind the router through the VPN without issue. The VPN appears to be working.

The problem I'm having is getting traffic to route through the home internet connection (192.168.1.1) from the cottage (192.168.0.1). I specifically want to route any traffic coming from one device (apple TV - 192.168.0.72), through the home internet connection. I've tried static routing, but that requires a destination IP. I want everything coming from this device to route through the home connection. Do I need to use policy routing? If so, what should I do?

Sorry if this is a basic question, but I'm lost on how to make this happen.

Thanks in advance.

@Hodgie

Do you manage your routers on Omada controller? You should configure policy routing to achieve your purpose. Select VPN tunnel you created as the WAN, and create an IP group for the Apple TV.

@Somnus I'll give this a shot.

In order to use policy routing I think I need to setup an L2TP or PPTP tunnel as well?

Thanks for the help!

That did it! I had to setup an L2TP tunnel because you cannot policy route using IPSEC with this router. As soon as I setup the L2TP tunnel and followed your instructions, it's working. Thanks so much!
