ER605 very slow DNS server
Hi TpLink team,
I have noticed a bug in the dns server/forwarder in my router.
I have needed to set the router to issue my ISPs dns server (119.40.106.35) to the LAN as primary, along with the routers (192.168.0.1), as the router DNS is exceptionally slow.
It is not always slow, but is often consistently taking 2 seconds to resolve hostnames, which is long enough to get an NSLOOKUP timeout in windows.
The router is pointing to my ISPs DNS server 119.40.106.35, and when performance testing the router DNS it is exceptionally slow in comparison. When it should only be a very minor latency impact as the router should be acting as a dumb forwarder back and forward from the ISP DNS servers received via DHCP.
I have my router attached to Omada OC200.
DNS benchmark results:
It looks mainly as though the ER605 is struggling with dot.com lookups.
When performing nslookup in windows, we can see 192.168.0.1 first times out before responding. ISP dns works as normal/responds immediately.
Thanks.
