Too fanatic roaming: devices switch each 10 seconds
Setup:

Looks like it works perfect, but the logs mentions a lot roaming-actions. And no, I'm not running so fast through the building:
The settings are:
Any suggestions to have proper roaming functionality?

This does seen strange.
Are the 2x APs close enough that their signal could overlap? Im thinking that each time the controller does a review (10 secs) it determines the other AP has a signal strengh that is good enough to force a roam.
Have you tried dropping the TX power on one of the APs to see if this stops the events? It could simply be that the signal is so good with each AP its constantly roaming.. dropping one AP down a touch might help this.

@Philbert Thanks for your suggestion. Lowered one of de AP's to "medium". Will test the coming days the outcome of this change. After that test I'll change the location of this AP.

@Philbert Still toggeling. Apzolder 5 GHz has been switched to medium yesterday, and my testdevice wviphone is located not between those 2 AP's, but at the and of apzolder.
I'm using 2x EAP245 (ceiling mount), but mounted both on a wall. Could that give another behavior than expected?
WiFi analyser (I'm using ovwvprive on 5GHz only):

I am seeing almost the same thing. In my case, instead of bouncing back and forth between 2 APs, it seems to claim it's roaming the same direction over and over again, in-between bouncing back and forth between wired and wireless:
I'm not sure if our problems are related but thought another data point might be helpful.

Hey WilCoV
Would you mind trying disabling of the Force Disassocation and re-test? This settng will remove the APs ability to force the device to roam, instead allowing the client to do this. Forced roam appears to be what is happening, all be it too aggressively.
I tried but i cant recreate this issue for you, mine roam as expected.. :(

Thanks @Philbert Force disassociation: is disabled right now. The TX of closed AP is still "medium". Will post test results tomorrow at latest

It's a different problem, has been discussed here.

Dear @WilcoV,
Does the fanatic roaming issue only exist on a specific client? Is it an iOS or Android device? What's the brand and version?

@Fae Currently, I see it on Apple devices only, all updated to latest iOS 14

@Philbert new test results, TX on medium, no Force-Disassociation. Same behavior:
Will switch to TX maximum again, due to issues at the corner of the area I've to cover.
