EAP225 V3 no DFS Channels
Hi,
I just got the EAP 225 V3 (in Canada). I do not see any of the DFS channels. This is the indoor version and I only plan on using it indoors. Is there a way to get the DFS Channel added?
Thank you,
Syed

Hi @ssyed,
Hmmmm, not sure about Canadian models/regulations, but here in the USA, these devices (EAP225V3, EAP225-OD, EAP245V3, EAP265) are not approved by the FCC for DFS. I'm not sure what approvals the new EAP660HD has. On 5.8GHz, in the USA, on these devices, there are only two 80MHz wide channels -- 42 & 155.
Make sure your device is running the Canadian firmware. Are you configuring through the web UI or Omada? I know in Omada there is a setting to disable one of the 5.8GHz bands for outdoor use (which is required in some/all of the UK and EU).

Unfortunately, TP-Link does not support DFS channels in either Canada or USA, at least for EAP225v3, EAP245v3 or EAP225-Outdoorv1.
For Canada using these 3 EAPs:
Indoor our choices are 36, 40, 44, 48, 149, 153, 157, 161.
Outdoor our choices are 149, 153, 157, 161. The EAP225-Outdoor is limited to just these four. USA gets more, but once you have Canada firmware on an EAP225-Outdoor, you cannot deploy non-Canadian firmware (even if you move countries or did it accidentally when you are not even in Canada)
I cannot comment on any other EAPs as I only have the 3 I listed.
edit: channel 165 is available if you select 20MHz channel width

The US allows the use of all UNII-1, UNII-2, UNII-2e, and UNII-3 - so this is a problem with TP-Link, not some regulation.
