It would be nice if TP-Link had the download showing on the Support page for the products.

Yes, updates of the region's support sites could be improved, that's correct. I always check the international site (tp-link.com/en/...) in addition to the one for my region when searching for firmware or documents. Both are always published first on this international site. Only thing is to select the appropriate firmware version (EU, US, CA etc.) when downloading it from the iternational site.
