Hi,

I believe you can use the Pharos CPE220 to pick up the signal and feed the internet to your home.

If you can install a device on the roof of your friend's house, you can purchase two of CPE220, hoop up one to the home router at your friend's home thus to transmit the wifi signal to further distance, then use the other one to pick up the wifi signal and feed the internet to the router at your home, see the setup below:

at your friend's home: router ----- ethernet cable ---- 1st CPE220 on the roof )))) 1km ((((

at your home: )))((( 2nd CPE220 ------ethernet cable ----- wifi router )))((( wireless clients

Good Luck!

Depends on the kind of area you and your friend live in (crowded area or rural area?).

If there are many foreign APs around in the 2.4 GHz band and the 5 GHz band is not overcrowded that much, I would recommend a CPE520 rather than CPE220. A CPE520 will achieve better throughput compared to a CPE220 due to the fact that in the 5 GHz band you have multiple non-overlapping 20 MHz wide WLAN channels to choose from. However, CPE520 is EoL already in some countries, but shops might still have two.

Also make sure you have a fresnel zone clearance over the distance of 1km, whatever CPE model you choose. You might want to use an antenna pole to achieve this condition.
