Hi,

I've bought an china POE adapter / splitter, with the following specs.

"Active PoE Splitter 48V to 5V 5.2V 2.4A USB TYPE A Female 802.3af"

Since its 802.3af, I had the asumption it would work just fine on the T1500G-10PS switch, but with POE enabled on the port its plugged into, there's no light/power on the adapter at all. (I have other POE devices connected, and they work just fine)..

Am I missing something, or is the device simply to cheap to work ?.

@lbm, make sure the powered device is connected to the splitter and turned on.

If I connect a TL-POE10R splitter to my T1500G-10PS, the splitter's LED shows that the switch tries to negotiate PoE: the LED lights up, but then slowly fades out again and continues this cycle (it's »pulsing«). When conecting a powered device to the splitter, the negotiation process completes successfully and the device is constantly powered up.

Yes, I've tried to do the full circle, by powering the raspberry pi, without any luck at all. Theres no sign what so ever, that the switches see this as an POE device...

@lbm, could be that your Raspi at startup draws more current on the PoE site of the adapter than what's specified for 802.3af auto-sense ranges, but that's just a guess. Could be also a weak design of the adapter or bricked adapter. According to the specs the 5V supply of TL-POE10R can deliver max. 2A (10W), but not 3A (15W).
