I am having trouble getting a connection between my router and switch.
router: TL-R600VPN
switxch: TL-SG108pe
modem (bridged) > router WAN > Switch
when I bypass my router, the switch works fine, but as soon as I plug into the router, no data can pass.
I have my router as the DHCP server, should the switch be set to enable DHCP?
Lessersol, check the IPs of the router and the switch, they should be different, but in the same subnet.
BTW, I guess you meant this network setup, right?

Using DHCP is not recommended for stationary devices, except you want to guess which IP your switch has been assigned today everytime you want to connect to its web UI.
@R1D2 thank you for the reply. You are correct with the network setup, I forgot the LAN.
So keep the DHCP server on at the router level but disable at the switch?
i did change the IP addresses, but will double check.

Depends on your setup.
If your network(s) should use an isolated transfer network to the router just for Internet traffic, you will need a DHCP server on the switch (or elsewhere in the network).
If your network(s) should be terminated in the router, you can leave the DHCP enabled on the router and disabled on the switch. Or you can leave both enabled for load balancing and partition the DHCP pool into two parts, each controlled by one DHCP server respectively.
