My question is, how do I configure the other two on top of the dam? Do I make the closest on to the AP a client and the one facing the other way a repeater? Do I make them both repeaters? Any help would be appreciated.
To connect three CPEs in a row, you could configure CPE #1 as a client, CPE #2 as an AP and CPE #3 again as a client. Note that the terms »client« (correct term for this mode: STA mode) and »AP« (correct term: MASTER mode) just defines which CPE (in STA mode) looks for which CPE in MASTER mode to connect to. Once the wireless connection is established, it doesn't matter which device works in STA or MASTER mode for the higher layers (Ethernet, IP).
However, take into account the antenna beam width of the CPEs which is 45° (H) / 30° (E) for the CPE510. If a CPE is outside this angle, consider using 4 CPEs, where the two on top of the dam facing in different directions are connected by wire.
Don't use repeater mode, it will introduce all sorts of trouble (hidden node problem, exposed node problem, cutting bandwidth half per repeater etc.).
@forrest, can you please move the thread to the wireless broadband forum? Thanks!
