Best way to connect 2x EAP225 Outdoor

Hi guys,
I have connected successfully 1x EAP225 Outdoor via LAN to my router from Vodafone. I have used the Omada App. The Local Access did not show me the EAP, so i had to configure it as Standalone AP.
Do i need a Switch to connect the second EAP225 Outdoor via Mesh to the other EAP? The distance is too far and in the second I can’t insert LAN.
Sorry for the stupid question, I have no experience. In the manual it is written to repeat the steps to connect another EAP. But the 2nd one has no internet connection...so the same steps are not possible.

please could you help me
i am having a similer issue in that i have an OC200 controller running with one wired EAP225 Outdoor.
wireless is running no problems and all works great.
i have tried to add a second EAP225 outdoor but this is where i get stuck
the controller cant see the second 225 wirelessly so i cant adopt it wireless
when i plug it into the router with a cable the OC200 can see it and i can adopt it
and it will show the same wireless networks a the first.
or different ones if i make new ones (i have tried)
however when i unplug it it just goes into a disconnected state and i cant
do any thing with it untill i plug it back in
any ideas what i might be doing wrong ?

If you already adopted the EAP over a wired connection, just disconnect the EAP from the switch and power it on.
It should now go into »Isolated« state (rather than »Disconnected«), but it might need a while for the controller to recognize the state (if it does not chage the state, proceed anyway).
Ensure that the global Mesh setting is enabled in the controller and click on the name/MAC address of the isolated EAP in the »Access Points« list. Select »Mesh« tab in the pop-up window. You should see the possible uplink nodes now. Now link the isolated EAP with the uplink node which has the best signal quality. You can also initiate a rescan if needed:
After the EAP has been linked to an uplink node, it will take another while until it changes to »Connected (wirelessly)«.
If it still doesn't work, please open an new thread and describe what you did exactly.

i followed the 2nd way described below and got as far as step 4.

Manually configuring the uplink for the isolated EAP is what I have described in detail in post #15.
Please follow those steps. Your wireless EAP must be in status »Isolated« or »Disconnected« for this method to work.
Also be patient. It might need several minutes until the status changes.

can i do this from the ipad based app or does it have to be done using the PC version. when i unplug the 2nd eap it seems to remain "disconnected"

@Airport_manager, you need to perform those steps in Omada Controller. If the controller runs on a PC, make sure to turn off the firewall and anti-virus software.

If you did connect the app with the WiFi network to manage the EAPs, this means you operate the EAPs in stand-alone mode.
As forrest wrote: to use a mesh, EAPs need to be operated in managed mode, that is under control of an Omada Controller.
You can still use the Omada app to view statistics etc. (then by connecting to the controller instead of connecting just to the WiFi), but the app can not be used to configure and run a mesh.

ok 1 more dumb question.
am i best to reset the Omada 200 controller and both the eap225 units i have and start from scratch using gthe PC based controller software.
Also the EAP225's that i just purchased seem to have a firmware version 1.20 20200604 rel. 51951...i take it have to upgrade the frimware on both units before the mesh will work.

@Airport_manager, no!
If you have OC200, you already run Omada Hardware Controller in your network. No need to use Omada Software Controller on a PC.
Just configure the mesh through OC200. Log into the controller (not using the app, using a browser) and perform the steps as described.
