EAP225 dynamic vlan support?
EAP225 dynamic vlan support?
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
Hi, I'm thinking of purchasing a bunch of new AP I'm considering EAP225, but for me they need to support dynamic vlan, assigned through raduis. But any AP hardly speaks of this the only AP that includes the word dynamic vlan support on their product page is dlink dap-2610, cisco supports it but hardly mentions it.
Does this accesspoint support dynamic vlan or not?

Hi,
You need to contact your TP-Link account manager for a special firmware version

I see the an updated firmware has been released and claimed to support dynamic vlan. I updated the firmware but unfortunately don't see any difference than the older one.
Do you upgrade your Controller to v4.3.5? What's the current firmware version of your EAP225 now?

Hello @Fae
I updated to the latest firmware v5.0.3. And I don't use controller since I have very limited number of devices, so I rather prefer standalone configuration.
Thanks.

I do not know what it is like with stand alone, but to configure dynamic VLAN on the OC200 you set ssid with WPA Enterprise encryption. do not define vlan, select radius server. it is the radius server that decides which VLAN to use. this must be configured on the radius server you use, here you must define the username password and which VLAN the user should enter.
I hope TP-LINK comes with a built-in radius server such as unifi has, it makes it all a little easier.

Hello @shberge ,
I believe I have tried the similar options on stand alone GUI as well. But I don't see any similar option there. And unfortunately I cant go the controller way right now.
Anyone from TP-Link probably can get me some clue.
Thanks.

@amlanhldr
Hi,
I have 30 different Omada APs and one OC200 running with Radius Authentification and different VLANs via "Tunnel-Pvt-Group-ID" in Microsoft NPS.
Most times the users are in the right VLAN, but sometimes the users get authenticated and they don't get in the right VLAN and are in the untagged VLAN1.
I tried everything and can't find a solution.
Can it be a firmware issue on the APs?
