eap110 shows TX-Power 20 in settings but is only 14 in iwconfig

Hi,
Just a bit frustrated about the WLAN strength of the EAP110 newest Firmaware (EU).
I realized that each country with English language does get the same (EU) firmware even US (when TRUMP will notice that:-)
I putty to the device and iwconfig shows me (below) only 14dBm instead of 20 as set in GUI
ath0 IEEE 802.11ng ESSID:"Out"
Mode:Master Frequency:2.447 GHz Access Point: 70:4F:57:44:F2:B6
Bit Rate:144.4 Mb/s Tx-Power=14 dBm
RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Power Management:off
Link Quality=94/94 Signal level=-96 dBm Noise level=-95 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:116 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
This isn´t OK I think.
So how to change that to the at least minumum allowed 20 dBm (20dBm * Omni antennas %dBm = 100 dBm)?

What makes you think so? EU version is EAP110v2_eu_1.2.0_[20170915-rel35854], while US version is EAP110v2_us_1.2.0_[20170915-rel35864].

iwconfig shows you TX power, not EIRP. Add the antenna gain to get the EIRP. Note that most APs cap the EIRP some dB below the max. allowed 20dBm in the EU.

Sorry didn´t mention I do have the EAP110 v1. and here I can download what I want all English language firmwares are the same EU&US file!
But I could read that in earlier firmware versions you could increase to 27 dBm instead 20 as currently maximum in settings.
Do you know how to get this increased to 27.
When searching in the internet there is no clear instruction and unfortunately there is no separate US firmware what would allow this change.
I cannot switch to US region any longer as it was possible in earlier firmare versions.

Link please.

27dBm is allowed in some foreign countries only. If you are in the EU and bought an EU device, the maximum allowed EIRP is 20dBm.

That's b/c of EU regulation frenzy. Vendors have to fulfill those requirements, else their devices are banned from the market. Note that violating those limits - e.g. by grey-importing US hardware - does pose the risk of severe penalties, including seizure of all your WiFi equipment (at least in some EU countries).

But still don´t understand when highest limit should be 20 why is it 14 even when I set 20?
I bought it in Europe but no took it with me to the US, hardware isn´t different I guess this is just the firmware
and even here all English firmwares are the same as the European one - Why?
So I am still searching for a real US firmware what allows me to change not to 20 but also to 26 or 27.

The setting in the web UI/Controller isn't actually TX power, it's total EIRP. Of course, this labeling is mis-leading.

There is a signature in the flash chip which prevents installation of US firmware on EU devices. Right, hardware is the same, but EU devices refuse to let you install US firmware.
So I am still searching for a real US firmware what allows me to change not to 20 but also to 26 or 27.
As I wrote in post #2, US firmware is different (release 35864) from the EU firmware (release 35854), at least what I see on the download pages for EU and US.

Hello,
is there a possibility to increase the TX power of the EAP110 or to flash a US firmware?
Thank you

any solution to this problem so we can use more tx power?
i just bought eap 110 and only allows 19dbm to be used what a shame for tplink not allow to use other country

@Ghk84, my EAP110-Outdoor V1 allows up to 20dBm EIRP (maximum value allowed in the EU for the 2.4 GHz band):
What EAP110-Outdoor version do you have? What country you are in? What's the maximum allowed EIRP in your country?

No. It violates the law (except in the U.S.).
