You may want to use a firewall to block them from reaching the internet. Disabling remote access prevents YOU from reaching them remotely, but won't stop the device from calling out to Kasa's servers...

That's the best answer, ask the manufacturer of the TV... anything else is speculation (and could go either way - some devices wear faster when powered off/on). In any case, Smart TV's are designed...

It's possible, but it takes a bit of setting up - I do this with my own alarm system using my app AutomationManager available from play. When it reports an alarm it starts flashing the outside...
