So the hardware version of the TD-8817 you have is V7? or V5? have you check the tp-link website http://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/?pcid=203&model=TD-8817

it may be faulty. you can also try to factory reset it.

Version 4 firmware is only for Version 4 hardware, it is NOT the upgraded version for Version 1\2\3. 3.6 is version 3.
