what is your topology? ISP--modem (bridge mode)--router? do you mean the PPPoE can not redial when it drops online? Have you try to update the firmware to the latest version?

Can the modem PPPoE dial up? If it can, I think it is OK. But, why don't connect the switch to the router? The topology can be like this "ISP--modem(bridge mode)--router--switch--PCs".
