We are having major problems with our load balancer.
When we try to connect and upload via FTP it times out the FTP connection, doesn't upload successfuly. It is 100% the load balancer, without it all works fine on all 3 internet connections we have.
How can we fix this problem?
Thank you

FTP Issues
2015-06-10 09:51:05 - last edited 2021-08-21 06:39:19
I'm having the same issue with FTP.
Did some searching and found this page about load balancing routers and FTP (PASV mode)
http://www.ncftp.com/ncftpd/doc/misc/ftp_and_firewalls.html#PASVLBProblems
Is there a setting in the router to resolve this?
Also I've noticed there's no issue if I connect through sftp on port 22, but on port 21 I get disconnected.

Update:
After I turned off the passive mode (on the FTP client) and use the active mode, it seems to be working now.
Does anyone know the technical side of why this would happen?

FTP issues

Hello,
We're having similar issues when connecting on external FTP in passive mode.
Active mode is working, but not feasible in our case.
I've tried disabling WAN2 in case of any problem with load balancing, but it doesn't solve anything.
Is there anyone from TP-Link who could help us?
Firmware Version: 3.4.1 Build 080625 Rel.62869s
Hardware version: R480Tpv2a 00000000

Enable Application Optimized Routing
2017-09-22 05:17:55 - last edited 2021-08-21 06:39:19
Hello,
I had exactly the same problem with this load balancer
What I did and solved my problem with FTP connection was to navigate to the Advanced category and then to the load balance tab and there I activated the checkbox "Enable Application Optimized Routing"
after I rebooted the device, the problem disappeared.

We are having major problems with our load balancer.
When we try to connect and upload via FTP it times out the FTP connection, doesn't upload successfuly. It is 100% the load balancer, without it all works fine on all 3 internet connections we have.
How can we fix this problem?
Thank you
