I have the following vlans setup
v99 - 99
v100 - 100
v101 - 101
v10 - 10

My main network runs on v101.

I have a vmware server plugged into port1 with the following settings
Trunk port1 with the following vlans tagged: 99,100,101
port1 PVID: 101

vmware has separate networks set up with the following tags: 99, 100, 101

I can not get to the management on the switch coming from vmware. ports 3-16 on my switch are 101 untagged with PVID: 101 can all get to the management on the switch fine.


Next issue i set up some ports with v99 (99) ports 19-24 untagged. I was trying to get my cable modem on v99 so i could trunk it up to the vmware server (my firewall is virtual). However, the cable modem always tries to give the public ip address to the TP-link switch. The cable modem keeps seeing the MAC from the switch instead of vmware. I've read on other switches this is caused by the loop detection but i have it disabled on the switch. Is this just a limitation to the smart switch brand? I have a jet stream poe one and it works fine going through a vlan. I just prefer not to use the jetstream at the moment due to fan noise.
