Hello, I have a TL-ER5120 router and i have the following issue:

I have 2 WAN configured in my router. A main WAN1 and a backup WAN2.
I configured the load balance as a link backup based on a failover, so my WAN2 will be used when my WAN1 fails.

The problem is: several times I enter in the router configuration, in the network status page, the WAN2 (my link backup) is disconnected for an unknow reason, and the load balance that I configured doesn't work when this happens, so I need to reconnect the WAN2 manually.

How do I fix this problem?

Maybe modem connected to WAN2 is not stable enough?
You should do more tests, for example, connect that modem to WAN 1, or your PC directly and observe...

@thiagodetomi

The same thing happens to me, with a TL-ER5120 v4.

I have to be reconnecting manually, since when it disconnects, it does not go back online automatically.

Any idea?

regards,

Fernando.

@Bertufer

Hi, here are some related instruction.

How to configure Link Backup on Dual WAN Router using the new GUI?:  https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2133/

How to configure Online Detection for WAN link testing using the new GUI?:   https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/701/

Have you enabled the Enable Load Balancing and link back up status? Have you chosen failover mode? You may also try to set the online detection by yourself and upgrade to the latest firmware version for a test!

Just striving to develop myself while helping others.
