Good evening

I have a switch TL-SG3424 hardware vs 1.7 with firmware rev 1.11.7 Build 20140721 Rel.62726(n).
The machine crashes always on reboot command in menu "BOOTUTIL(v1.0.0)"
The problem persists (even with no network connection at all) with a single connection (console cable COM1) After reboot command in menu "BOOTUTIL(v1.0.0)" only power led is on. system is off as well as all other led. Switch restores after power off/ power on operation;
Is this a hardware malfunction or a software bug ?

Hi,

are you in the BOOTUTIL menu (do you press CTRL-B) ?

If not try to reset to factory default and try again. Save the config first :-).

From which version did you upgrade ?
There where many changes in different firmwares starting from binary file to text file in CLI format.
Changing also in cli commands and denying using of space in descriptions.
I am not sure if i did a cli reboot with the same firmware level but last time it works ...

regards

Hi Markus

Thank you for your tip.
When my router is power on, I am able to stop normal boot process by pressing CTRL-B.
Please be aware that at this stage router's OS and respective configurations have not been loaded yet.
As you know, the menu TP-LINK BOOTUTIL(v1.0.0) can be used to replace or update damaged OS, trough the commands:
ftp - config the remote host ip, the user name, user password and the image file name
and
upgrade - upgrade the firmware

when I run reboot command the switch crashes.
My question is just:
Is this an hardware or software issue?

thanks
