POE for eap110 outdoor not working with SG2428P switch
![](/avatar/avatar-21.png)
I have an eap110 outdoor access point that I want to connect to our SG2428P switch. But the eap110 does not work with PoE. Only with the power injector in between does the EAP110 turn on. The manual states that the EAP110 also works via a PoE switch. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,
EAP110 (both indoor and outdoor) are older devices and those supports passive PoE (24V) only. Therefore it works with Power Injector but not the switch.
If you want/need to use PoE from switch, you should consider getting newer models - EAP115, EAP225. Those uses standard PoE (48V) which will work with switches.
Cheers

@Marcel-tp, another option is to use a POE splitter to convert from active to passive.
