Before purchase SG2210MP EOL:
Hello.
I need clarification between these 2 products that are listed with the same model name. (I am aware of hardware versions, this is not my question)
The TL-SG2210MP Is stated as EOL. (I am trying to avoid purchasing this product.)
Instead I wish to purchase SG2210MP.
I am located in Germany and am aware that different versions of omada hardware are present in different parts of the world. But when your helpful product links redirect to global site they provide contradictory information.
How do I obtain the SG2210MP in Germany when the resellers do not know the differences?
My major concern is ending up with an EOL device that will become redundant with the OC200 controller and other supported devices.
Please advise
Many thanks.

Hi @Defty,
The re-branding of JetStream to Omada is likely the source of confusion. Maybe the link below will help.

Hi @Defty
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
As D-C stated, the name was removed from the current models.
The retailer may still hold stocks of the old one. But you gotta make sure that you purchase the latest hardware version listed on the official website. Then with or without TL-, it does not matter so much.

Just to add I have a similar issue when looking at my other switch I intend to purchase.
RE: sg2218 Please visit this product link
Cclick "Jetzt Kaufen" (buy now) click amazon.
Now its listed as "TL-sg2218"
which is listed differently on your website (see link) This is the older jetstream version..which will likely be EOL very soon.
Please help.

You state ,. "you gotta make sure you buy the correct hardware vcersion".
How am I supposed to do this?
The tp link website links me directly to your amazon store. From there there is NO information regarding hardware version. Nor is there a POS contact to ask.
Please assist.
Note I reside in Germany and you can visit the store links from my original 2 posts.

Ok.. So now I'm looking at switch:
TL-SG3428
From the link provided earlier It can identified below as:
So: this clearly states hardware versions 2.0, 2.6 , 2.26, and 2.26 are compatible with Omada hardware controllers and future updates of Omada controllers.
Now. Please look at this:
Then please look at the release note of latest firmware:
+++++++
It states "Firmware for TL-SG3428(UN) 1.0. This firmware is fully adapted to Omada Controller V5.14."
++++++++++
Is it possible the data base for this switch hasnt been updated? or am I missing something? Will V1 of this switch be supported in the future? Or is it just currently able to function with OC200 controller?
Thansk for your time.

There is no such information from me. I don't decide what product enters the EOL
Go to the global website instead of your local and review the latest. Switches rarely get discontinued if you purchase 28 ports or more.
You should go for V2 which is the latest hardware.

Ok.
RE:
TL-SG3428
Is listed here as
TL-SG3428(UN) 2.0/2.6/2.20/2.26 which after Firmware upgrade will change device spec description to SG3428(UN)2.30/2.32
problem is: there is no firmware with a release note stating this for Hardware version 2.0 . In fact, latest firmware release is from 2023.
TL Version 2.2 has firmware from 2024 with a release note that confirms the upgrade path to Omada.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Is it in fact possible to upgrade:
TL-SG3428 V 2.0 with the TL-SG3428 V 2.2 firmware. ??
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
I have read an article from 2023 that metioned that both hardware versions were infact considered identical during a 2023 firmware upgrade.
Note: information from global site
many thanks.
