I have some TAPO cameras and some VIGI cameras.

I have a VIGI NVR that displays the image in a main location with 6-8 images on the same screen. (on a larger screen).

I would like to display on a second screen in another room only some of the cameras, can I put another VIGI NVR on this other screen? Will the cameras be able to be connected to two VIGI NVRs? Both on the same network.

Hi @lwmirkk

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

You can have a maximum of three NVRs to control as long as they are in the same subnet.

An IPC supports up to 3 main and sub streams.

Certain models like -4G only support 2.

Stream number means IPC that can be controlled by NVR.

IPC in this context is about the VIGI. Not aware of the technical specs of the Tapo or any home products.

  @Clive_A Another different question :

VIGI NVR2016H
= HDMI/VGA Simultaneous Output

VIGI NVR4032H
= HDMI/VGA Independent Output

Does simultaneous mean that it will display the same image on two screens?

Does independent mean that I can display, for example, 6 camera blocks on one screen and 6 different camera blocks on another screen? (as if it were a screen extension like we have in Windows?)

Thanks a lot. :)

Same image.

Independent means extending the screen.

On the NVR, you can choose to split the screen window. When you have more cameras, extending the screen is a better way than copying the image. NVR4032 offers the better choice for advanced users.

In addition to the last reply, we officially do not recommend connecting a camera to multiple NVRs. If there is an issue, we may not be able to fix it. Be aware this, it supports but does not mean it will work well on multiple NVRs.

  @Clive_A

In the first case for the main environment, I would like to have two screens displaying different cameras. I thought about using the same NVR (NVR4032H ?) or two NVRs for this:

If I have 8 cameras:

With independent display, could I display 4 on one screen and the other 4 on another screen? In this case, displaying all 8 cameras at once (4 on each screen), correct?

With simultaneous display, if I define a block of 4 cameras for display, both screens will display the same 4 cameras, correct?

-------

The situation above is for the main environment.

But I also intend to have some of the cameras monitored in another environment (far away, but in the same network).

This second case would display 4 cameras, but these 4 cameras are also already connected to the first NVR.

That's why I had the idea of having two NVRs, the main one that has all the cameras (8+) and also records, and the second one that will only display 4 cameras (which are also connected to the first NVR).

Is there a better way to do this second case? Where is it necessary to have two environments monitoring the same camera? Or would this idea of having two NVRs be the most plausible at the moment?

Thanks a lot. :)
