Installation Successfully Completed!

If you're encountering any issues related to Java, kindly run the following command to configure the correct Java version:

bash  CMD

sudo update-alternatives --config java

Then, select Java version 17 and try the installation again.

  @Vincent-TP

Updated on Ubuntu, no issues after updating java.

Poking around, in the Global View->Setttings->Cluster after you enable Cluster the link to " How to Configure Distributed Cluster Mode on Linux Controller. "

(https://www.omadanetworks.com/support/faq/4347/) is broken.

I have a lot of interest in this--is there anywhere to view additional information or should I just wait for the link to be published and go from there?

Additionally, I noticed on the link to supported products that the list in quite limited and only includes EAPs.  Will Routers and Switches be coming or do they all support it and therefore don't require a compatability list?  And I know its beta, etc. but is there a general timeframe target for cluster support across the Omada line?

  @Vincent-TP My controller is hosed after attempting to update from the previous version: 5.15.8.2. Lots of errors in /opt/tplink/EAPController/logs/server.log that the forum won't let me copy fully here...

01-24-2025 20:38:08.530 ERROR [main] [] c.t.s.o.s.t.SpringBootStartUpTask(): Cannot start up springboot. reson:Failed to read candidate component class: URL [jar:file:/opt/tplink/EAPCo

But I did upgrade java:

# update-alternatives --config java
There are 3 choices for the alternative java (providing /usr/bin/java).

Re:Omada SDN Controller_V5.15.20 Pre-Release Firmware (Update on 24th Jan, 2025)
Sunday

I'm not sure what the fix was, but after the following, I am running fine on the latest - I suspect it was running the previous version under jdk17 before upgrading to the latest, rather than running the previous under jdk8 and then the latest under jdk17.

  1. Kept jdk17 as the active java version
  2. installed the previous omada_v5.15.8.2_linux_x64_20241230190018.deb - that worked
  3. Upgraded to the latest jsvc following the install guide from source (1.4.1)
  4. installed the latest dpkg -i omada_v5.15.20.10_linux_x64_20250122095751_1737709061629.deb

  @Vincent-TP

Had the same Java Error on my Ubuntu Install... and Followed the direction from previous users/post and it worked!

So far so good!

My test lab has a 7206 V1... hopefully it gets a few firmware update.

I can not teach anyone anything - I can only make them think - Socrates

Re:Omada SDN Controller_V5.15.20 Pre-Release Firmware (Update on 24th Jan, 2025)
Monday

  @Vincent-TP While everything appears to be working so far now, I just migrated from one software controller (the one I just updated to 5.15.20.10) to a newly installed 5.15.20.10
 controller, and notice these errors scrolling through the logs on the newly migrated (but otherwise appearing to be working correctly with everything adopted) controller on 5.15.20.10 (I cannot include full logs due to forum url filtering it seems):

Caused by: com.fasterxml.jackson.databind.exc.MismatchedInputException: Cannot deserialize value of type `com.tplink.smb.omada.device.manage.message.get.osg.ContentFilterResp` from Array value (token `JsonToken.START_ARRAY`)
at [Source: REDACTED (`StreamReadFeature.INCLUDE_SOURCE_IN_LOCATION` disabled); line: 1, column: 45] (through reference chain: com.tplink.smb.omada.device.manage.message.body.osg.OsgGetRespBody["urlFiltering"])
