EAP235-Wall question
Hello,
I'm currently having this setup at home :
- 1 router ER7212PC
- 5 EAP245 (4.0), all cabled to the 7212PC
I would like to add a EAP235-Wall, but in the garden (hidden in a box). I only have an electric cable there, so it's ok to connect it to a POE injector. But my question is, can the EAP235-Wall work only in Wifi to extend the current Wifi in Mesh ?
And second question, does the EAP235-Wall have the Lock to AP feature ?
Thanks in advance

Hi @Vincent-TP ,
I'm sorry but I've received the EAP-235 Wall (EU V1), when it's cabled directly to the router (or a switch on network) I'm able to see it immediately and adopt it.
But as soon as I'm removing the network cable, I'm not able to see it anymore. Am I missing something ? How am I supposed to make it work in wifi/mesh ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @BoBsss
EAP can only mesh with EAP products; they can't mesh with other brand routers.
It seems like you are seeking an EAP product that supports repeater mode, which EAP235-wall doesn't support.

EAP225-outdoor supports repeater mode if you want.

Hello @Vincent-TP ,
Yes but I'm trying to mesh the EAP235-wall with the 5 EAP-245 that I already have, that are all 5 cabled to the ER7212PC with latest firmware and Mesh enabled.
You told me in your first answer that it would work with that setup as the EAP235-Wall has the Mesh support in the latest firmware.
So if I understand correctly, it was a mistake, and the only device that would really work in Mesh is the EAP-225 outdoor ?

Hi @BoBsss
EAP235-wall supports mesh. Please make sure it's running on the latest firmware.
Below is the release note for the latest firmware version.

If still failed, please refer to the following link to configure standalone mesh and let us know the result:
