Model: Festa F65
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version:

I cannot figure out how to adopt an F61 Access Point that has been added to my Site/Controller.  The status for the device in the controller says PRECONFIGURED ... and I cannot choose to Adopt it.  The cloud controller is giving me an up to date "Last seen" date and time based on when the F61 was powered on and connected to my network, so it seems that the device has checked in with the controller.  The steps I have taken so far:

  1. Create the cloud controller location and site
  2. Configure the Wireless Networks info for the site
  3. Received a brand new F61 v1.6 device from Amazon
  4. Used the +Add Devices option in the cloud controller to add the F61 by Serial Number
  5. Connected the F61 to the network with a network cable
  6. Connected power to the F61 via the power adapter (the F61 is not connected to a POE switch)
  7. Status light on the F61 is solid blue

See attached screenshot of device as it is currently displaying in the cloud controller.

Seems like I'm really close, but the F61 is not getting adopted and it not broadcasting WiFi based on the settings I have put in to the cloud controller.  Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi  @mspowner08

You may connect a phone to its SSID and check internet connectivity.

The fastest way to fix the issue is to factory reset the AP.

Here are the general steps to factory reset a TP-Link AP device:
The reset button is located in a small hole on the back or bottom of the device, we need to use a pin or pen to press and hold the reset button for about 5–8 seconds. While holding the reset button, the device's lights may flash and the device may restart.
Once the device has been reset, it will revert to its factory default settings, you can now access the device using the default credentials admin/admin.
Please note that performing a factory reset will erase all the customized settings on your TP-Link AP device, so you will need to reconfigure the device after resetting the password.

I'm not sure why the screenshot didn't upload with my post.  It was there when I submitted the post.  I'll try again here ...

Hi  @mspowner08

Are you using Omada cloud-based controller adopting the F61?

F61 is Festa products, it belongs to Festa family and you need to use Festa controller to adopt it.

Below is the link of Festa controller:

@Vincent-TP Yes I am using the online Festa Cloud Controller.  I realize there is not compatibility between the Omada and Festa products.

Why does the status for the AP show as PRECONFIGURED in the controller interface?  I cannot find any documentation that explains what that means.

Hi  @mspowner08

This is because the AP is not connected to the Internet.

Please check the cable connection of the EAP.

@Vincent-TP The EAP is connecting to a switch that is providing service to other devices.  They are online just fine.  When connected to the switch and powered on with the AC adapter, the switch port lights up to indicate connectivity. I have looked at the web UI for the device while it's connected and I can see that it's getting an IP assigned via DHCP. Is there anything to look at in there that would allow me to know if the device is able to reach the Internet?

Thank you.
