Model: EAP225
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 5.1.6

My controller has version 4 and version 5 points. The latest firmware. But since the points are different, I noticed that over time, some points, exclusively version 4, gradually overflow their memory to 98-99 percent. After that, something like a processor load to 100% happens and the point is no longer monitored. At the same time, clients connect to it, there is access via sssh and the point responds to ping. If you delay the time, it may cease to be available, then only a physical reboot. What's the problem??? It happens with different v4 points, but not with all of them. With version 5, there is no memory overflow.My controller has version 4 and version 5 points. The latest firmware. Hi  @Annihilator

Do you mean there is no Internet issue on the EAP units, they just can't be monitored by the controller?

How often will the issue happen?

We may troubleshoot the topology (if there is any loop) and the power supply.

What kind of controller are you using? How is the controller connect with the EAP units?

  @Vincent-TP

Yes, the controller stops seeing the access point because the access point memory is overflowing. There is 1.5 MB of memory left and the access point first stops being seen by the controller, and if nothing is done, it stops being pinged and access via ssh is lost. You have to reboot it. This happens with all access points of version 4! I have more than 20 of them on the controller. At the same time, more than 10 access points of revision 5 do not experience such problems! Yesterday I rolled back all 4 revisions of access points from firmware 5.1.6 to 5.1.1 and so far there are no memory leaks. The problem is clearly in some new functions added to this firmware. I can send graphs from the controller tomorrow to demonstrate this. You have a memory leak somewhere in firmware 5.1.6 for EAP225 v4.

Hi  @Annihilator

We had some similar feedback.

We are working on a new firmware and it will fix this issue.

During this period, please downgrade the EAP's firmare to maintain a stable connection.

Apprecaite for your understanding.

  @Vincent-TP great if you fix it because for me in 5.1.6 for example the LLDP function is very useful. it's just a pity that it doesn't actually write the name of the device that you specify in the controller, but just the access point model.
Here is an example of a graph of one point after downgrading from 5.1.6 to 5.1.1.

as you can see on version 5.1.1 there are no memory leaks for more than a day. Although on 5.1.6 they were constantly and I had to reboot it so that the controller could see it.

  @Annihilator

Hi today - something that never happened occurd. One of my three EAP225 (

) had kept getting its memory constantly filled up till 100% level. then it become unresponsive. had to manualy restart by unplugging.

something is very off with its current firmware.

there seems to be some naturaly occuring memory overflow.

Of course the controller also lost the connection in the same moment. I did not investigate further as the power cycle fixed it.

I got 4 APs for many many years. This never happened! Be more cautious about your firmware updates as it had to be introduced by it
