This guide aims to provide insight into our VIGI NVR naming format.

 

This Article Applies to:

 

All TP-Link new VIGI NVR.

 

Naming Format:

 

Let's break it down:

 

VIGI NVR2016H-16MP

 

Model Number Field Example Description
VIGI NVR2016H-16MP NVR Product Category VIGI Network Video Recorder
  2 (First Number) 2 HDD

Number of Hard Disks

1   -    Supports 1 hard disk
2   -    Supports 2 hard disks
4    -    Supports 4 hard disks
8    -    Supports 8 hard disks

  0 (Second Number) 0

Complementary bit, used to signal minor functional changes or upgrades, 0 is the start bit.

1: Support hard disk quick install and quick remove function

  16 (Third and Fourth Number) 16 Channel Channel capacity indicator
08   -    Supports 8 channels
16   -    Supports 16 channels
32   -    Supports 32 channels
48   -    Supports 48 channels
64   -    Supports 64 channels
96   -    Supports 96 channels
  H (First Letter) H.264 Coding method indicator
H    -    H.265 compression
Null   -    H.264 compression
  -16 (Feature Number) 16 Ports Special function indicators (Number of Ports)
  MP (Feature Letter) Medium PoE(Budget)

Special function indicators

MP/HP     -    indicates different PoE power budgets.
(?)P    -    PoE power supply,
AI    -    AI function supported. Supports NVR end AI analysis
W    -    Wi-Fi enabled
