Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.20.1 Build 20231115 Rel.68992

Hello, I Have 8 switches I have to configure on 4 different locations in the building. Every location gets 2 switches that are connected with SFP+ DAC cables.

Connections between locations are with single mode fiber connections SFP+

In the serverroom are switches SW15 & SW16 and they connect to 3 other switch pairs in the building (SW17&SW18, SW19&SW20 and SW21&SW22) as shown in the pictue:

All switches are running instance 1 with vlan1-2 and instance 2 with vlan 3-4.

What I would like to achieve is to use MSTP on all 3 switch loops, but I am struggeling to get this working and I know that I cannot to this by just changing path cost.

I can really use some help to guide me in the right direction.

Thanks, Kim

@kshesq I did work by setting root instances (I have two) on two instead of one switch.

Hi @kshesq

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Not sure what mode you use, but should be configured like the guides below.

@Clive_A well that setup is what I use. For all switches I use 2 routes 2000 and 300000 but on disconnecting the lower cost path I loose the network connection.

The above setup works on 1 loop, but not on multiple loops. I suspect that the root switch senses that there are other 2000 cost path routes left and does not use the 300000 route.
