Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.7

Hi,

I have a site with a local controller and three EAP660 that I have set up on April 18th (about 2 weeks ago). Everything was working fine, but then yesterday at 16:00, one of the three APs dropped down to ADOPTING and is stuck there. Remotely rebooting it (using the PoE recovery button in the Omada interface) sometimes drops it further to "ADOPTION FAILED" (then I can click the "Adopt" again, and it gets stuck again in ADOPTING), sometimes it does nothing at all.

The APs are all connected directly into the "3-in-1" controller PoE+ port, so there's no L3 networking issue like firewall ports. Also, the system *used* to work just fine, and there were no network changes yesterday when it dropped. No Messages in the logs about anything gone wrong.

Please advise!

Hi @Matt6667

According to the description, it seems that this EAP was not getting the IP address from the gateway. Could you try to use another cable to connect the gateway and the EAP660 HD and try again? Please also confirm how many PoE devices are connecting to the ER7212PC in case of exceeding the power budget.

@Hank21 Thanks, I tried different cables, different ports, even different controllers. Factory reset, waited the magic 30 minutes, etc. Nothing worked. Eventually got an RMA from TP Link.

The exact same thing happened again with another EAP660HD at a completely different site & different controller. Unit and its two "sisters" had all been in place since March, and they all have uptime of 50+ days since last upgrade. No changes at all to the local network. Just one morning I wake up and one of the APs just "won't be readopted".

Last time this ended up with an RMA... :(
