Model: EAP660 HD
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.9

I've two EAP660HD V1 access points.

One of them doesn't seem to startup anymore. If I connect it to the PoE port of my SG2008P switch, only the PoE LED will light up. The link/activity LED of the switch port remains off. On the EAP itself the blue light turns on. On the Omada controller the EAP is not visible and gets no IP address.

I tried resetting the EAP (holding the reset button until the blue LED flashes), but that doesn't make any difference. Also the standard TP link wifi SSID's doens't show up after reset. Using a 12V power adapter instead of power it via PoE also doesn't make any difference.

I've used the other EAP660HD on the same port and cable and that works without any problems. When plugging that one into the switch, the link/activity LED turns on after a few seconds.

Is there anything I can do to force a start/reset of the non working EAP?

  @Melvinius

then you probably have a defective access point.

have you tried to connect access points directly in the switch with a short cable?
I suspect you have cable problems.

  @MR.S

Thanks for your suggestion.

I've connected it with a 5m and 1m UTP cable directly to the switch to test it, with the same result. Other EAP works fine with both cables.

ok are you sure the cable is ok it sounds like the ap is faulty. ap gets power since it lights up. have you tried meshing wirelessly to another ap. it sounds like the ethernet port is defective, but then mesh should work.

I can't access the AP. It doesn't broadcast the SSID's to connect to it wireless. After my (several) resets, it should broadcast the default TP link 2,4Ghz and 5Ghz SSID's, correct?

It could also be a firmware problem. here is a guide on how to do firmware recovery

Just tried, but doens't work. There doesn't seem any network connection possible. Plugging in the UTP cable into my computer doesn't light up the LED on the LAN port. The EAP behaves the same with a PoE injector. Only the blue LED turns on.

Hey, definitely broken, contact to the support and check the warranty, apply for a replacement.

  @Virgo

I came to the same conclusion.

Warranty won't be possible. Although it has lifetime warranty, I can't apply for a replacement because I bought the unit second hand. It'll be recycled.

For what it's worth: the unit seems to be doing something. It uses ~8W PoE power, so it's busy with 'something'.

I left the EAP660 connected to the PoE switch. First I didn't notice, but now the blue LED blinks periodically. It stays on for ~40 seconds. Then turns off for 1 second. Then 40 seconds on, 1 second off and the cycle continues.

Does this blinking means anything?
