Hi,

I'm currently looking to install new setup to a new 250 units building.

Router: ER8411                                                  x    1
Core Switch : TL-SX3016F                                 x   1
Access Layer switch : TL-SG3428MP                x   16
Commun space AP: EAP670                             x    6
Apartment AP:  EAP615-Wall                             x 250
Centralized Management Method: OC200         x 3

I want all apartments to have there own VLAN/SSID so they don't see other people TV etc. It will be a long job to setup all VLAN and SSID.

So I thought why not replace all apartment AP with router instead like Archer AX55 ?

I understand management of each router will be a bit different (i will still be able to remote acces them) and I can limit each access layers switch port to 50 mb/s or 100 mb/s so that I can limit each apartement.

Any thought why it is or it's not a good Idea?

Hi @Habita

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

You can use bridge VLAN for the apartment setup.

As for your setup, you need 250 VLANs, so your VLAN ID should be at least 250.

The subnet should set to a value where you have enough estimated IP count for the total number of connected devices.

Recommend you set 13 VLAN interfaces with each interface of 20 VLAN (ID).

Set the gateway/subnet differently for 13 VLAN interfaces.

This kind of VLAN is called bridge VLAN and they are isolated from each other by default. No ACL is needed.
