Model: EAP653
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: EAP653v1_1.0.9_[20230814-rel36852]_up_signed

Hello,

after upgrading the firmware the AP came up with:

PORT      STATE SERVICE
22/tcp    open  ssh
10000/tcp open  snet-sensor-mgmt

I am able to log in via ssh using a user/pw I previously configured for administrative purposes.

However, this is not equal to a root account in TP-Links busybox.

So,

1. Where to file a bug reg. root?

2. how to get back the web interface?

3. how to downgrade the firmware? - The previous was had been working OK.

Thank you very much!

PS: no, I do not use controller software

  @NaN-Noyb

Supposedly they don't open full Root access to end users, downgrading can be found in the top article:

  @Virgo thank you!

Of course, the captive portal of the ap also stopped working.

And it refuses access from the app.

I'll try to get the omadac version specified for the fw release running on something wired, maybe I can configure it this way?

  @NaN-Noyb so, to end this story:

I was able to join it to omadac,

Looks like omadac provides a fraction of the original firmware functionality. But I need VLANs, NTP, rsyslogd, portal, snmp, ...

I was able to factory reset the ap using the reset button and restored the config from backup.

No more tp-link firmware updates for tp-link ap's for me. Looking into 3rd party firmware or other vendors, sorry.
