Ive just changed Broadband provider from Sky to Vodafone (UK)

 

I swapped everthing over from the Sky router to  the Vodafone router (TGH3000) and the EAP225 wifi wouldnt  work and kept getting "Incorrect Password" Message  when tring to select wifi with iphone or ipad and just not connecting with various laptops/TV 's etc

 

I spent all day yesterday and part of this morning on it and found this out

 


When I have all the AP's with only 2.4g enabled with Full security password + 5g disabled all works fine

When I have all the AP's with only 2.4g enabled and Full security password and 5g enabled with No security password it all works fine

So it only  fails when the 5g is enabled with security password enabled

Any ideas ???

 

My set up worked ok With the sky router and with the Virgin router prevoius to that .

I could possible live with only 2.4g but not sure I should have too !,so may have to go back to sky / virgin

Hi, it seems like the issue is with WPA3 encryption method, you can try to set the security with WPA2.

  @Virgo , My EAP225 v2 doesnt have WPA3 ??,  Ive tried Auto and ( WPA2-PSK + AES ) and get the same incorrect password message , it locks up the 2.4 also , until i discconnect it from the Vodafone router and disable the password protection  on the 5g side

Did you have the latest firmware on the EAP225 V2?

It seems lilke a very old hardware version.

Yes but the newest version is 2018 ,as you say quite old .

Ive just relised the AP in my conservatory is a EAP225-Wall . When i have the 5g enabled with password it all works fine . Its just the EAP225 v2's that cause the issue with the 5g .

Maybe there are an authentication method compatibility issue on the old EAP, it hints you need a new model product.

I ordered 2x newer EAP225's   and the V4 version arrived  and work fine ....I should tried downgrading the Firmware on the older models first ??? but the new ones work so ill stick with them
