Model: SG2008P
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3.0.5 Build 20230602 Rel.73473

I have a network of tp-link products, managed by an Omada SW SDN Controller, including a few TL-SG2008P devices with POE security cameras attached. The tp-link Amazon product page lists 'POE Recovery' as one of the primary features of this product.

How can I turn on POE Recovery via Omada?

"TP-Link TL-SG2008P | Jetstream 8 Port Gigabit Smart Managed PoE Switch | 4 PoE+ Port @62W | Omada SDN Integrated | PoE Recovery | IPv6 | Static Routing | L2/L3/L4 QoS |Limited Lifetime Protection"

Hi @BubbaBubba

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

There is no specific setting for PoE recovery. The PoE can always auto-detect and supply power when needed or the device is connected. So, no worries about this.

I think you refer to this:

With this function, on POE switches you can cut the power through a specific port (ie to connected to a camera) and let the poe enabled device on the other hand to restart.

  @Bonesoul

Thank you for your reply. I suppose I wasn't clear what I was looking for. I should have titled this "POE Auto Recovery" and I guess the "Auto" isn't supported.

I was looking for something like this: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2944/ where something detects that the camera is not sending data and power cycles the camera.

What you're describing wouldn't be considered "recovery" would it?

Hi @BubbaBubba

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

I don't think they are the same thing. In the specs of TL-SG2008P, do not mention PoE Auto Recovery as a feature.

PoE Recovery is a thing that you can recover power automatically. This is also a default feature for PoE.
