Model: EAP670
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.6

I use a EAP670 for home use. It's connected to my AT&T gateway and I use the omada software controller for windows. This EAP randomly disconnects (loses internet connection) daily. My wired connected device are working fine during this time so it's not my ISP going down. Today I logged into the omada software immediately when it happened and saw the status of "Disconnected".

When I log into the software controller and go to logs there is nothing ever reported, is this only for hardware controller?

What could possible make this happen every day?

Hello @Chad711

The EAP670 might be stuck in disconnected state when it works in 5GHz weather radar channels (channel 120, 124, or 128), check out this solution post for more details.

Hi, did this issue start to happen from you deployed it into your network?

How did you power the EAP670? How long is the cable between EAP to the router/switch?

Is it affecting the actual usage of your network?

  @Virgo

I have since switched over to the hardware controller OC200 so we will see if this resolves it. EAP is plugged into a/c power in home. Cable is 15ft. Yes it's affecting wifi devices when it disconnects.

Yesterday was the first day I used the hardware controller for the EAP. I do not believe it ever disconnected (if it did the logs didn't show that and I didn't notice it). I will continue to monitor it. If this stops the issue from occurring I would be curious as to why this was happening when using the software controller. Do I need to have the software controller running all the time? I usually only launched the controller software when I wanted to login to check something.

Usually, you don't need to have the software controller running all the time if you don't need more advanced features like mesh, or portal. etc.

As you said, continue to monitor it and see what happens.

So far my EAP seems to be working better since using the OC200 with it. However my wife's work laptop keeps having a handful of WPA Authentication timeout/failures. It's only on that one device so not sure what the issue it. I did create a new SSID with only 5Ghz for her laptop but that didn't help.
