Oc200 firmware
Hi,
I noticed the oc200 firmware is way behind the latest (windows/Linux) software. Why is this? Is the oc200 product no longer supported?
I bought the controller because I didn't wanna go through all the trouble of using docker or running it on a system 24h.

Hey
The OC200 is not way behind the current software version, currently its 1x version behind.
The last two versions of SDN released are 5.7.6 (Dec 2022) and 5.9.9 (Feb 2023). The software and hardware versions are not released at the same time, for example the Windows version of 5.9.9 was out first about 4 weeks ago, the linux version approx 2 weeks ago and the hardware version any day now.
In general the numbers are not sequentional, 5.7.8 wont be replaced with 5.7.9 or 5.8.1 this could be a jump to 5.12 for all we know.
The hardware controllers are approx 5-6 weeks behind the Windows version release, so we are due the release very soon (likely this month)

@Tescophil For gods sake the both of you, it's not TWO VERSIONS BEHIND! Seriously ........ It angers me that theri DEDICATED HARDWARE has been IGNORED! Why even BUY THEIR STUFF........... Windows comes first, then Linux............. and WHEN THEY CAN BE BOTHERED............ the actual hardware itself!
5.8.4, 5.9, 5.9.4 I beleive and 5.9.9....... Right we got 5.7.6 which yeah.........
We've had absolutely nothing for the OC200/OC300. Buggy as all F who can't adopt things properly. Maybe it's just the ER605.
Stop making excuses..... counting beta's all the things their NON DEDICATED hardware get????

@Philbert I am not here to start a rant :D I was only wondering if the product is still supported. If the oc200 is as you say always 6 weeks behind the windows version, fine. I just think this is a bad thing. I don't need the latest of the lates firmware but i am looking for solutions for problems i have. For that i need to know if the product is still updated.
Anyways i hope one day the "loosing network connection" of the er605 gets solved and maybe add routed IPtv support? That way we dutch people can actually use iptv :P
regards

Hey
Yeah no worries, if you subscribe to this post it will alert you on the new firmware updates as they come out. Roughly its every 2 months in my experience, Jan this year (5.8.x) being the exception as they skipped it for the hardware controllers with plans to wrap it all up in 5.9.x which is due out any time now.
As said more details on the post below if you need them

Well that escalated quickly.. You calmed down now?
There has indeed been 2 SDN releases since the last hardware update, namely 5.8.6 in Jan and 5.9.9 last month.
5.8.4 was quickly replaced with 5.9.4 (Beta) to address issues that occurred post release, there was no hardware version of 5.8.4, instead all fixes where rolled into 5.9.9 (being the second offical released firmware). There was no 5.9 and 5.9.4 was an interm release for testing, not an offical version.
5.9.9 is due later this month, as said its usually 4-6 weeks behind the software version is released. In terms of why this is, no idea but can only guess its down to it being easier to compile a software exe than it is a hardware firmware flash. That aside they have said they will release it soon, and in fairness they always have.
Hopefully that helps keep your stress levels down :)
