Model: SG2008P
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: TL-SG2008P(UN)_V3_3.0.4 Build 20221130

@Hank21 could you please advise if the TL-SG2008P V3.0 will be getting a FW update beyond the most recent FW upgrade below v3.0.4.....Both the TL-SG2008P variant 1 & 2 have v1.0.7 & v2.0.6 respectively also shown below now have a release with several features enabled and compatible with the OMADA controller e.g. Jumbo Frame, Time-Based ACL, that the V3 does not yet have.

Could you advise if a V3 update to support the same V1 & V2 features is imminent and perhaps a likely by when please?

Dear @Apples

Yes, @Virgo and @d0ugmac1 are both correct.

TL-SG2008P(UN)_V3_3.0.4 Build 20221130 is fully adapted with controller V5.6.

It reflects the same features as the V1 and V2 HW variants on the same Build Image.

If this is the case can the v3.0.4 descriptions for the FW be updated to reflect the same features as the V1 and V2 HW variants on the same Build Image to ensure there is clarity. This is quite key seeing as recently some OMADA SDN controller releases have started to state we need to look at the FW notes of Devices to see if they will or will not be compatible with OMADA feature support.

Thanks for your feedback, I will report it to TP-Link Support.

  @Apples

Hiya!  if you look at the build date code ie 20221130, you'll see all three versions you mention are identical.   I am confident your v3.04 is equivalent functionally to the v1.07 on my 2008Pv1.  With TP link the BUILD is the important number as I believe that's the date they took a snapshot of code from their development tree to make whatever specific device/version 'build' was needed.  I think the v3.04 simply means the 4th released build (note that not all builds are posted, some are debug loads provided to community members others may ship from the factory but never get posted).  I'm inferring most of this, but I'm pretty sure I'm right :). We'll see what @Hank21 comes back with...

  @Apples

I agree with @d0ugmac1, you are very observant. yes

Guess what, I upgrade it to 3.0.4, and I see everything you want there.

I think the MD5 is the same for them, and I'm guessing that they are universal.

Just striving to develop myself while helping others.

 @d0ugmac1 & @Virgo many thanks for your comments on matching Build Image. It makes sense. As you state it would be good to categorically hear that from TP-Link @Hank21 & @Fae can you confirm? If this is the case can the v3.0.4 descriptions for the FW be updated to reflect the same features as the V1 and V2 HW variants on the same Build Image to ensure there is clarity. This is quite key seeing as recently some OMADA SDN controller releases have started to state we need to look at the FW notes of Devices to see if they will or will not be compatible with OMADA feature support.

If however the build image point made should not be the case, then I default to my original question in the thread please? Many thanks in advance for your support.

  @Hank21 thanks for confirming @d0ugmac1 and @Virgo Build Image statement and for referring to Support, so that they can ensure the FW notes reflect in the Download Centre.
