Model: TL-SG116E
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 Build 20220826 Rel.58631

I have two TP Link Smart Switches (SG116E and SG108E) botch connected by a tagged vlan connection.

But switch 2 cant be managed when connected via 802.1Q tagged VLAN  connection that transfers two LAN ID's (100 und 111)-´.

Switch 1 is connected on Port 4 (untagged VLAN100) to main network. And can be managed with Easy Smart.

Switch 2 is (and should) only be connected with the tagged VLAN conenction.

But then this switch can not be menaged, and isnt found by Easy Smart.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Or is it still impossible?

Switches are configured accoridng TP-Link How to. And both VLAN Configs are working. Only i am unable to manage switch 2.

UPDATE: I can ping the second (unreachable) switch, so its probably a problem of Easy Smarts Discovery Funktion? Any hints?

Regards Fred

  @FreddieK

TL-SG2008 will work for you.

I don't think easy smart switches are really "managed".

  @Somnus Yeah you may be right...

But for my purpose its ok. I dont need more of a management. Omeda would have been nice cause I want to migrate to omeda wifi in the future. But for now its ok.

Whats not ok is that i can not access the second switch.

And now i found out, that it is impossible to manage this switch even with a network cable directly connected to it. Easy smart allways only shows the first switch.,,

That really sounds like a big bug in easy smart tool.
