I have no problem accessing a CPE510 web management page when the LAN port of the POE adapter is connected directly to a computer via cable. Pinging the CPE510 from the computer also works fine connected like this. CPE510 IP uses static IP = 192.168.68.101, subnet mask 255.255.255.0.

However, when I connect the LAN port of the POE adapter directly to a LAN port on a Deco M9 or M5, I'm no longer able to ping the CPE510, or access the web management page, even though the CPE510 (192.168.68.101) and my computer (192.168.68.125) are on the same Deco subnet (192.168.68.x   255.255.255.0). I am also unable to ping the CPE510, or access the web management page, if I insert an Ethernet switch in between the CPE510 LAN port and the Deco M9 LAN port. The destination CPE510 (192.168.68.101) becomes unreachable in both of those scenarios.

 

I have the CPE510 IP address 192.168.68.101 configured for IP Address Reservation in the Deco app.

The web management page shows: Device Model: CPE510 v3.0

 

The label on the CPE510 device shows: Model CPE510(US) Ver: 3.8

Given the difference in versions (v3.0 vs 3.8), it is unclear to me if I updated the CPE510 with the correct firmware.

 

The web management page shows firmware version: 2.2.3 Build 20201028 Rel. 55220 (5553)

Am I using the correct firmware?

Any other ideas?

I think I figured out why I wasn't able to access the CPE510 web management pages over wireless.

I have all my 2.4GHz devices on the main network (only the 2.4GHz radio turned on).

I have all my 5 GHz devices on the Guest network (only the 5 GHz radio turned on).

My laptop was wirelessly connecting to the Guest network (5 Ghz) when the problem occurred.

Apparently, when the Deco's are used in Wi-Fi Router mode as I'm doing, the guest network and main wi-fi networks are isolated from each other.

To test this, I disabled my laptop wired connection adapter, wirelessly connected to the main network using 2.4 GHz, and now I'm able to access the web management pages over a wireless connection.

More info / partial work around:

I found I can access the CPE510 Access Point and CPE510 Client web management pages, but ONLY if my laptop is connected via ethernet cable to directly to a Deco LAN port, or indirectly wired to a Deco LAN port with an ethernet switch in between.

I've not been able to figure out how to access the CPE510 web management pages if my laptop is wirelessly connected to the same network / same subnet.

I don't know if this is intentional or not.

 

The Deco LAN ports appear to be at least partially isolated from wireless. 

Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.
