Hi,

I do have an Outdoor Access-Point connected to my switch.

All configured with Omada Controller.

How can I secure my switch port in that way, that 'only' the Outdoor Access-Point MAC-ID is allowed to connect to that switch port?

Didn't find a way or any explanation within manuals.

Hope to get some help.

Thx.

Hi @Fae @Hank21

Maybe you can help over here? Any idea how to solve this (common) point?

Hi  @Spryde

It's not supported currently. I will report your requirement to D&R department.

@Hank21 So there's no way to secure the network if someone manages to get access to the outdoor AP ?

Even if outdoor AP is used in a Wifi Mesh setup without a physical connection to the switch you can still connect to the network by just plugging a device in the LAN port of the TPlink POE injector, I just tested it.

Really hard to belief that this is not supported.

Is there any other way to prevent the mentioned attack?

  @Hank21

I have already invested quite a bit in TP-Link equipment for our company, but I also couldn't find the option for port security via mac address. I now read that this option is not there yet. Is it already known when this will be possible?I have already invested quite a bit in TP-Link equipment for our company, but I also couldn't find the option for port security via mac address.   @Robin74

Currently Port Security is only available on Standalone mode. We will update it to the Controller in future.

We don't have an exactly schedule yet.

Same for me Robin, invested a lot into TP-Link (private and company) but I've drawn a line. Should final firmware not be available by the end of the year, I will sell all my TP-Link stuff, because I do not like to be put off again and again and play the beta tester.... Network infrastructure must run - I can not and do not want to deal again and again with problems in the area.

@Spryde   So yet again the 'Jam tomorrow' syndrome where a basic, but important function in networking is not available. This reflects really badly on TP-Link for use in the corporate market and is why purchase decisions by my organization have recently gone to another similar, but much better organised, system.

TP-Link need to establish a timeline, publicly publish dates for implementation & then stick to a product development roadmap, otherwise the current 'not really professional' tag is going to continue with the Omada SDN (sadly deficient network) system.

Hi.

Any update on how to secure switch ports?

When will it come to Omada Controller?

@Spryde This is crazy that port security is still not implemented. When will this be a feature on this "advanced" network solution. In the meantime, is the only workaround to introduce another switch which supports port security, or use standalone mode?
