Model: EAP225
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.0.7

I have a wireless network with an EAP115. I decided to add an EAP225 to extend the range and allow my faster devices to be moved to it since it has 5ghz.

It's adopted fine, provisioned fine, I set a static IP on it and can ping it fine. All my wireless devices that get moved to it suddenly get a 169.254

If I reboot the EAP225 and force the devices back to the EAP115, they suddenly get their regular 192.168 IP. If I force reboot the EAP115 and force all devices to the EAP225, they all get 169.254.

I've scoured through all my settings and quadruple checked everything was set.. Any ideas?

I figured it out. In Settings - Wireless Networks I had the VLAN applying there. Once I removed it, the EAP225 started assigning proper IP's. I dont get why or how this would affect DHCP but it was.

Thanks for the reply!

1. May I know the version of your controller?

2. If you use the EAP225 in standalone mode, if the clients can get the valid IP?

3. Please also tell us the firmware version of EAP and did the EAP show Connected on the controller?

What is the static IP you set?

4. Have you set any advanced settings on the controller like VLAN, Guest network, etc.?

5. If you can describe your network topology simply, it will be more helpful.
