Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1 -> 1.2.0

Hi All,

 

Everything was working well, and I decided to do a firmware update from 1.1.1 -> 1.2.0 on my ER605 V1.  It finished and after the restart it said the firmware update has failed.  Looking at the router the system light is off.  I let it sit for a couple hours no change.  

 

I think it might be bricked as the reset doesn't work either and the system light doesn't turn on.

 

I purchased this in July 2021 from Amazon in the US, and their support isn't open today.  I will call Monday AM to discuss the options I have now.

 

Anyone have any ideas on how to unbrick?

I had the same experience just now. No system light. But I could get a throughput to a directly attached pc to and from the modem, but it was like there was no router in between. Fortunaly I have a backup router, until this problem can be resolved. I will follow this thread.

Hi again. I got it working again by connecting directly and uploading firmware by using this guide: https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/263906. Now it works with the newest version firmware.

Thanks, that worked but I couldn't do 1.2, had to roll back to 1.1

It does seem a bit odd, I had no problems when I upgraded before, you could wait a few days and try again.

And you need to make sure there was no power failure or disconnection or anything like that during the upgrade.
