Model: CPE210
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: CPE210(US)_V2_200612

Hi,

My setup:

  • Medialink AC1200 Router (MLWR-AC1200R) ----->
  • TP-Link 2.4GHz N300 Long Range Outdoor CPE (CPE210) ----->
  • (About 50 feet of clear, outdoor space) ----->
  • TP-Link 2.4GHz N300 Long Range Outdoor CPE (CPE210) ----->
  • Medialink AC1200 Router (MLWR-AC1200R)

This had worked great for over a year, but in the past month the following takes place on the client side:

  • A speed test shows 60Mbps+
  • A few hours/days go by and the speed drops to <1Mbps

Troubleshooting. From what I can tell....:

  • Running an Ethernet cable directly from the CPE power adapter to a computer (and thus skipping the router) does not improve the speed
  • Powering the router off/on does not help.
  • Unplugging/plugging the ethernet cable between the router and CPE210 does not help
  • Unplugging/plugging the ethernet between the CPE and the CPE power supply does not help
  • Running a cable from the router to a computer does not increase speeds
  • Unplugging/plugging the power supply for the CPE brings the speeds back to 60Mbps+ for the next few hours/days

Again, no recent changes from a hardware/end user behavior/settings perspective.  Any thoughts?

Thanks

@tlinkj06d

You can actually check the software updates for this product and try upgrading if the latest firmware is available.
Of course, if you haven't tried resetting it, it is advisable to reset and reconfigure it.

Just striving to develop myself while helping others.

@Virgo

Thansk Virgo!  I fully reset the Client side device. I also installed the most current firmware (apparently CPE210(US)_V2.0_20201110 was released the day I purchased the devices, haha).  So far, a week later, there haven't been any issues, as the speeds are no longer dropping. Thanks!

Edit: Issue is still happening. 30 minutes ago the speed was down to 20Mbps. Now it's 0.5Mbps. 😓

Any thoughts? Painfully slow before unplugging the CPE210 client device. Tests below show speeds before and after briefly unplugging the either net cable that runs between the CPE and the power block/adapter. 😓

 Another week of terrible buffering and SD video. Someone outhere has to have some info on this. Again, unplugging the power to the TPLink is the only thing that momentarily improves the speeds. Now the better speeds only last an hour or two.

😓
