Hi all,
Quick questions: why does the OC200 have 2 network ports ? How to use the second port given ?

I know port 1 is the POE connection, that is how most people run the device.

 

Port 2 however, its kind of not needed IMHO.   I have plugged a device into it on occasion and it appears in the same LAN / VLAN as the OC200 device so technically its an additional port.

 

Really not needed however

@Philbert Thank you for your response. I agree with you it's difficult to see a usecase for this second port. I am curious to know if some people are using it for something useful.

@mtest001 According to my understanding, I thought of 3 reasons to set up this port

1. It is convenient for customers to use this port for recovery.
2. Customers can use this port to log in to OC200.
3. Customers can connect EAP to this port.

Thanks. Given that the port cannot better than Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps), it's very unlikely that people would be connecting an EAP to it (and also it cannot do PoE)...
