Model: TL-SG108E
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

To extend my connection ports, I have bought a second TP-Link switch TL-SG108E. First,  I connected them in parallel with my router, but ti gave unexpected network behaviour. Now I am trying to connect them serial.

What is the best configuration ? Do I have to change some switch settings to optimize ? Both switches have different versions of firmware (v3 and v6) ? Recent version is v6.6.

Is it easy to do an switch firmware upgrade ? Do you have documentation ?

@GunterK

Hey,

There is no big difference whether you connect them both to your router or connect them serial. It is up to your deployment. But what network behavior do you expected?

To upgrade the firmware, you just need to download the latest firmware file from TP-Link official website, and upload it to the switch's web management interface.
