I enconter the same issue, but with version 4.2.8 installed using the omada_v4.2.8_linux_x64.deb package. After the installation of 4.2.8, the installer runs through the initial questions, and in the last screen where I click "Finish", the error message is written to the log and I get a "General Error" in the web application.

 

Environment:

Debian 10 patched up-to-date

mongodb-org-server 3.6.21 (this is tricky to install)

openjdk full version "11.0.9.1+1-post-Debian-1deb10u2"

 

Any news from the developers here?

I got it up-and-running by uninstalling the old Omada controller, cleaning up all the files as it was never installed before, did a fresh install and restored the backup. That was working for me.

 

okay i will try that. I'm using omada controller version 2.4.11, can i have the parameters you pass in authorize function?

Please notice: I just recognized you are responding to a thread other than the one I hat posted my answer for. This confusion has been made my me.

 

I had trouble during an upgrade of the Omada Controller software, and the solution was a clean reinstall. You seem to have problems with an External Portal Server. This function is unknown to me and I do not use it.

 

For this reason, please do not follow my advice as it refers to a different problem.

Having very similar if not the exact same issue when trying to get the external portal working, would appear to not be a priority for TP-Link, a real shame is this is preventing us installing their systems in customer sites.
