Model: TL-SG1016D
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Port 1 on my switch (TL-SG1016D) is connected to my router via gigabit (gigabit green led light turned on) and my router to ISP modem. I verified gigabit connectivity by conducting bandwidth test on my computer which is connected to port 16 of the switch also via gigabit as shown in the led light on port 16 of the switch. bandwidth result is more than 500Mbps, both download and upload, which proves gigabit connectivity. When i woke up in the morning, the gigabit led light indication in port 1 of the switch is turned off where my router is connected and when i check my bandwidth on my computer. The result is only 100Mbps. I tried to transfer my port connectivity from port 1 to port 2 to bring it back to Gbps. After connecting to port, gigabit green led light turned on and bandwidth comes back to normal. Does this mean that port 1 on my switch is broken? How does that happen?

@clintz, almost certainly this is a cabling issue. Wrong auto negotiation of a port's bandwidth can happen with unshielded and/or cheap cables.
