Hi Guys,

I recently set up my home AP system with 1 EAP 225 + 2 EAP 225-Wall. The normal 225 (AC1350) works as expected but the 225-Walls(AC1200) are not.

When I using my iPhone11 to connect APs, the speed test from Google shows 500+M for EAP 225 (which is expected), but only 80-90M for EAP 225-Wall. The speed test was done at one place when all other APs are disconnected, so power and cable are the same, and the only difference is the AP (225 vs 225-Wall).

I'm aware that EAP 225-Wall says it only supports 100M for ethernet connection, but I'm assuming it's not the case for the Wi-Fi?

Backgrounds:

  • I have 1G fiber with AT&T. Speed test with ethernet cable is 800-900M.
  • All my cables are CAT-5e.
  • My switch is TL-SG1005P

Thanks for reading my post, all ideas and suggestions are welcome. Let me know if you need more information to understand the case.

No, the 100M Ethernet connection limits the throughput to 100M, so the WiFi speed won't be higher than 100M. TP-Link now has Gigabit EAP wall product, EAP235-WALL, you could consider it.
