CPE 210 use in RV Park
CPE 210 use in RV Park
I am staying in an RV park and always have issues getting a good signal due to being surrounded by metal and my own being metal as well. I decided to buy a CPE210 and point direct at the parks wifi radio to acheive better wifi. It is working fine as a repeater but I'd prefer having my own SSID and wifi router inside my RV to have a private network. I tried using bridge mode but I can't get internet access from the LAN or WiFi AP it created. I do get DHCP and tried 8.8.8.8 for DNS but nothing seems to work.
Ultimately I'd like to plug a AC1000 WFi routers WAN port to the LAN port of the CPE210 creating sort of a traditional wireless in myt RV. I even have a Google WiFI mesh router to use but am concerned that since my testing of Bridge mode above did not give me internet access I am doing somehting wrong.
What would be the correct mode to use in my case in order to use a Wireless router inside my RV using the CPE210 to RV Parks wireless AP?

@R1D2 hi there, I've got my 210 set up and connected to my home wifi, great. But when I get to a campsite, I need to enter in the site's WiFi details to connect. Is this possible using say a mobile / iPad accessing the 210 AP, instead of having to schlep along a laptop and ethernet cable to connect directly? Thanks for any advice.
Mike

The way I have mine setup is is the 210 connected to a Google wifi router. Once everything is powered I can get to the 210 via wifi. I would imagine if you use the 210's AP it should work the same.

@KiwiMike, sure you have to enter username/password or other credentials in order to connect to the campsite's hotspot, but you should be able to do so with any device connected to your CPE AP.

@Mtnman1000 @R1D2 Thanks, yup, I managed to log in through my iPhone, and change SSID/pwd - so looks like we are sorted! All I need to do is power the AP, no other cable or device needed.
Next step is to fit my caravan with a 12-24V 0.25A converter so I don't need mains power, and we are sorted! mains-free long-distance free WiFi (here in the UK most routers are BT, and we can get free access)
